Here’s my story.
I wrote this piece because I understand the frustration that comes from fumbling around with Excel and not getting it. Maybe your boss asked you to do something and you couldn’t get it done or you made up some excuse.
I want other people to know how I started right from the bottom and now know it like the back of my hand.
If you need the short version, the miracle I finally found is called Video Professor . I loved it because:
– It teaches you step by step,it’s like watching a movie, pause it stop it , whatever.
– It’s broken down into segments, from basic to advanced.
– You don’t have to buy expensive books or materials
– It’s FREE! Well, you do have to pay shipping and handling, (about $6).
But first, read about how it helped me:
OK, so I’m embarrassed to admit it, but I got fired 3 years ago, my boss asked me to do a cost analysis on Excel, and I was clueless. Needless to say, I put my butt in gear and searched the internet to find a way I could learn. I wasn’t going to get fired again, and Excel is an important skill to have for any job.
That’s when I stumbled across the Video Professor site. Finally something that worked. In about 2 weeks I was at an intermediate level and doing spreadsheets like a pro.
I wrote down a few benefits of learning and knowing Excel:
– Higher pay and more job opportunities.
– Higher efficiency in everything you do.
– Analyze and organize large amounts of data quickly.
But Video Professor doesn’t just do Excel, they have tons of videos, from Ebay to Windows.
The price was really what sold me, FREE!. All I had to pay was shipping and handling, like $6, and I got the best learning product I’ve ever tried.
I’ve been in your shoes, not really knowing my way around spreadsheets or computers for that matter. Not making enough money to get ahead and struggling to pay the bills. If the $6.95 cost of shipping and handling is going to prevent you from putting food on the table, by all means buy the food please. If you are uncomfortable in any way about the price, then don’t do it. But if you want a shot at finally learning Excel
